CHAIR
Heather MacLellan. Heather is a Member of the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church History Committee, which is the custodian of one of the most important historic, Scottish-Ballantine stained-glass-window collections in North America. Her past experience includes: Head of Interpretation for Canadian National Historic Sites in NL and Ontario; Director of Marketing, Parks Canada, Ontario Region; Head of National Historic Site Capital Project Development for NL; and Assistant Deputy Minister of Culture and Heritage for the Government of NL.
SECRETARY
Barbara Clancy. Barbara is a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church History Committee and Board of Managers. She has been a long-time member of the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) St. John’s, and has held CFUW executive positions on the local, regional and national levels. She is a retired junior-high-school teacher, and has a keen interest in family history and genealogy.
DIRECTORS
Rev. Derrick Bishop. Derrick is a history buff and Member of the St. John’s Ecclesiastical District National Historic Site of Canada Working Committee. He is knowledgeable about Anglican cathedrals, and the significantly historic and cultural importance of their English stained-glass collections. He has conducted tours of the Anglican Cathedral in St. John’s for 40-plus years, and greatly enjoys sharing his considerable knowledge of Neo-Gothic architecture and stained glass.
Dr. Shirley Ann Brown. Shirley Ann is Professor Emerita and Senior Scholar at York University. She introduced unique courses on stained-glass history, stained glass as a modern art and art-glass windows in Canada. In 1986, Shirley Ann founded the Registry of Stained Glass Windows in Canada with the goal of locating, identifying and recording art-glass windows, domestic and imported. She served as an invited consultant, in collaboration with the National Historic Sites Directorate (Parks Canada), for the McCausland Studios historical designation (1990) and the pre-restoration study for the National Memorial Chamber Windows in the Peace Tower (1997). As the foremost researcher on Canadian art-glass heritage, she has published numerous articles on Canada’s stained-glass windows.
Megan Donoghue-Stanford (BFA, MA-York University). Megan is a PhD candidate in Art History and Visual Culture at York University. Her dissertation examines the windows of the St. John’s Ecclesiastical District National Historic Site of Canada as objects which reflect cultural and denominational identity. Her work situates the windows of the District within their historical context. Megan is actively involved in heritage efforts to preserve NL's stained-glass windows, and has delivered conference papers and public talks about the District’s collections.
Dr. John FitzGerald. John holds a PhD in NL and Canadian history from the University of Ottawa. He is a sought-after public speaker and broadcaster on heritage matters, and a historical consultant and author of scholarly articles and books on NL history. He is the author of Stained Glass Windows of the Basilica Cathedral of St. John the Baptist: An Illustrated Guide. With Shane O'Dea and Paul O'Neill, he co-authored A Gift of Heritage - Historic Architecture of St. John's. John has founded and chaired numerous cultural and heritage boards. He served as NL Deputy Minister and Executive Counsel, and Professor of History and Education at Memorial University.
Robert Pitt. Robert began his involvement in historical research and heritage communications as the original Managing Editor of the Encyclopedia of Newfoundland and Labrador. He has contributed to the Encyclopedia of Canada, the Dictionary of Canadian Biography and the Dictionary of Newfoundland Biography, and was part of the editorial staff of the Newfoundland Quarterly. As a producer-director for educational television at Memorial University, he wrote and produced a series on NL’s indigenous history to the 20th-century. He has served as a historical consultant, plus authored/edited numerous papers and reports for governments. He has been involved in heritage planning for the City of St. John’s, and currently chairs the Metro Business Opportunities Agency.

Anne Cochrane. Anne has 35+ years of award-winning marketing, communications and branding experience as well as journalism. She has worked for a broad range of public- and private-sector organizations including: broadcasting, financial services, healthcare research, medical devices, professional-consulting services, regional economic development and technology. Anne was Co-founder and Member of the Board of the national health charity, Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade. Anne started her career as a journalist with CBC-TV in St. John's. She is also a published author of crime fiction set in St. John’s.
